I am not a Chocoholiker, but I like doing my own chocolate with different tastes!

Our creations often come up while dreaming or by a stupid-productive conversation after a couple of beers! So one day we spoke about growing our own chocolate plant. With the bones we could then try to do chocolate. But it's a really hard work doing it from scratch. So an other day, after some glasses of wine and a poppy tee (thx Andrea) I had the idea to melt plain chocolate, mix it with some kind of essences and then shape it in a form. With this an other experiment started!
You have to use a bain-marie to melt the chocolate without burning it. It is also important to add a bit of butter (or margarine or any other kind of solid fat) to keep the chocolate smooth and make it look shiny when it became solid again. For the first time I used my cinnamon liqueur Mountain High to flavor it. I poured the molt chocolate then in an ice-cube tray and put it into the freezer. But then I realized that the alcohol or general fluids don't let the chocolate became solid anymore. It still tasted great, but it was more a parfait.
The next time I used only cinnamon powder and I got a fantastic cinnamon-chocolate. You can also add some sugar to make it sweeter.
All this happened shortly before Christmas and so I decided to give some of my chocolate as a surprise to the girls. Hence I created an entire line of Christmas-chocolate: cinnamon, peperoncino (chili), raisin and coffee-chocolate. I also tried one kind with white chocolate (my favorite) and added pieces of almond. The experiment was a success and shortly after I did an other round; this time I tried to perfect the shape of the cubes. I found nice forms - some smaller ones and one with fruit shapes. So I did Tine a “chocolate gift” which was not just tasteful but also beautiful to look at!
Now in brief I will tell you how to do your own chocolate:
Ingridients:
- 100 gr plain
chocolate (you can also use the white one)
- small piece of butter (or similar)
- some sugar (if you want)
- one of the following (or mix them or try an other one - let me know!!): cinnamon | almond or nuts cut in small pieces | ground chili | raisins | entire coffe bones or ground coffe | coconut powder...
Preparation:
Cut or grate the chocolate, in the meantime prepare a bain-marie, add the chocolate and the butter, stir it continuously until it is fluid. Now add the other ingredients (I can't tell you the exact quantity, I have to try it too) and mix it. Then pour it into the forms (try with ice-cube trays - be sure they are dry). Then put it into the freezer. When they are completely solid just take them out like ice cubes. That's it!
