After a good plate of pasta or meat you have to close your meal with a great dessert.

 
     
 

A traditional South-Tyrolean dessert is the Strudel. The outside is made by flaky pastry and the filling can be made of apples or also poppy seeds; obviously you can also put other kinds of fruit like apricot for example. The classical apple strudel is filled by a mix of cut apples, raisins and pine nuts mixed with cinnamon powder, sugar and a shot of rum. Once in the oven you can "paint" the strudel with a bit of yolk, in this way it will look golden when finished. When finished you can cover the strudel with some powder sugar; it's served ofthe with wipped cream or vanilla cream.
